I've never seen King Britt in Boston before, and I have no idea what he's gonna play. Could be House as he's recently on tour promoting the next DEEP & SEXY mix cd compilation, but it could be funk and soul seeing as his latest podcast is just that! 2007 Miami M3 Summit CANCELLED!!!

Dramatic news reveals the 2007 Miami's M3 Summit cancelled after three years of sucess, practically over-shadowing its rival Winter Music Conference.

A blurb in XLR8R Magazine quoted M3 CEO Brad LeBeau saying that "in order to grow the M3 brand from a three-day annual event into a year round lifestyle experience we are entering into a significant investment/production partnership in 2007, the details for which will be announced shortly. This is an exciting move for M3, and one that requires ample time to prepare for larger opportunities in Miami and other cities"

WMC & Ultra Music Fest are still a go. Hopefully they'll have better luck in 2008.

Veteran House DJs remember G-Swing Records, the French label that released a series of "Swing House" tracks mostly by Mike Dixon in the early 00's.

"Swing House" was cool for a minute, but after awhile repetative loops of classic swing samples just got annoying. Dixon is still making tracks and the movement brought other artists like Greenskeepers and Translucent (now Jason Tyler) (who plays live trumpet while he DJs) to the forefront, but the style was deaded.

Enter Zero DB.

It's a pretty loose comparision to call their brand of House "Swing" (or even necessarily House), but their cut-up jazz, uptempo beat style has that same energy that made me fall in love with G-Swing a few years back. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that their upcoming first album "Bongos, Bleeps & Basslines" is coming out on the ultimate sample slaying/cutting-edge artist breaking label: Ninja Tune/Big Dada (home of Coldcut, Diplo & Spankrock to name a few). Zero DB's style feels right at home along side Ninja's old gaurd of sample manipulators and Dada's stable of booty bouncers, and this is def music that can be chilled out to at home or rocked out to on a sweaty dancefloor. Keep Swingin'...
